Materials and labelling of methane gas pipes
Labelling repeated on methane gas pipes at regular intervals for the sake of a correct identification.
The national scenario of methane gas pipes is regulated by the reference UNI CIG 7140 standard, which lays down the guidelines for the marketing of non-rigid pipes, in order to connect low power devices to the domestic gas distribution network. What is meant by low power is kitchens and other users with a lower power than 35kw.
The realization of methane gas pipes calls for the use of materials that are compatible with this fluid, in order to avoid a precocious degradation of the pipe itself. A plastic that suits this purpose fine is the PVC (synthetic resin) with which these conductors are built and which is also easy to process.
The standard, however, stipulates that inside the body of methane gas pipes there should be a fibre or metal core to absorb part of the efforts caused by the pressure of the gas itself.
Something worth remembering is that in spite of the fact that this product is sold in 50 metre rolls, it is not possible to use, for connections between user and distribution point, clips with a length in excess of 1500mm.
