Types and characteristics of brass hose nozzles

Gnali Bocia designs and manufactures brass hose connectors for any type of system. Here are the characteristics.

Within the Gnali Bocia catalog there are numerous types of brass hose nozzles which differ on the basis of:
- Connection diameter: fundamental characteristic to be defined to allow adequate connection with the pipes of the system in which these components are installed;
- Number of outlets: there are single, double, triple and quadruple hose nozzles;
- Arrangement of the outlets: in fact, even in the presence of the same number of connections, different configurations can be found. For example: three outlets can be located at 120 ° from each other or with two at 180 ° and one arranged perpendicularly;

The choice of brass for the construction of the hose nozzles

Brass is a widely used material in the field of fittings both for gases and for hydraulics. This material is an alloy formed of copper and zinc (binary brass) or with the addition of other elements (ternary brass and quaternary brass). Among the characteristics that make it suitable for this type of application are:
- Corrosion resistance: being in the presence of gas or fluids there is a high risk of encountering corrosion problems especially in particularly aggressive environments;
- Malleability and ductility: these are fundamental properties in the forming phase to be able to create the shapes that are necessary to produce the components which, in this specific case, are the hose nozzles;
- Good mechanical properties: especially as regards hardness.
- Certainly these characteristics make brass a material of high suitability for the production of components for systems but, without a correct production chain and the ability to transform the material in the production phase, these properties are in vain. For this reason, the study of process parameters is necessary and mandatory to reduce waste and produce better quality products.
