Our flexible water hoses can be extended for easy assembly until they reach double their normal length
Connecting domestic supplies to the distribution system is easy using the flexible water hoses produced and marketed by Gnali Bocia in its Lumezzane headquarters. The hoses are made with precision from processed top quality stainless steel. They are, in fact, made from an extendable corrugated hose that is TIG-welded to the nuts and end fittings, to guarantee maximum safety and precision.
These flexible water hoses have a special characteristic: they can be extended up to double their normal length while maintaining their seal characteristics. Being made following the indications of the UNI CIG 7129 Standard, they can reach a maximum length of up to 400 mm when fully extended.
The diameters of the flexible water hoses available from the catalogue range from 1/2” to 1”, and they can satisfy all the main requirements of civil, and also industrial, installations.
Remember that to make the flexible water hoses last longer, they must be installed in a manner that does not cause wearing by rubbing and they must be protected from knocks that could damage the installed article.
Choice of material and extensibility: a fundamental combination
When we talk about extensible water hoses, we refer to components that have characteristics of adaptability and efficiency that are unique in the panorama of fittings and pipes. In fact, extensibility is an exceptional property that allows the connection of pipes with axes in particular directions without the need to modify the layout of the system itself, compromising efficiency for geometric reasons.
In all this discourse, the materials chosen for the manufacture and production of extendable water hoses take on particular importance. In fact, a wrong choice, as well as an unsuitable production process, can lead to the malfunction and breakage of these components, definitively compromising their use and reducing the application advantages described above.
The main material: stainless steel
In order to facilitate the exploitation of the properties introduced in the previous paragraph, it is clear that the choice of using stainless steel is the best possible. This material has characteristics, mechanical and otherwise, which highlight the extensibility, strength and installation of the extendable hoses, reducing problems and expanding the application range: - Extensibility: this characteristic, as the name implies, is central in this type of hoses and derives from both the material and the morphological conformation of these. It is easy to see that the preventive study that must be carried out is the cornerstone of all product development: the error in the choice of material or shape can compromise subsequent use; - Mechanical resistance: belonging to the family of steels, these materials allow to withstand huge stresses in the elastic range, that is without exceeding the yield point and undergoing permanent plastic deformations; - Corrosion resistance: as components carry water and other fluids, they are often found in aggressive environments which, over time, can damage the hoses themselves and reduce their useful life; - Temperature resistance: use may require resistance to both high temperatures and below 0 ° C. The use of austenitic stainless steels reduces the criticalities as they do not have the transition temperature that brings the material into the fragile field.
Although these are only some of the characteristics that concern stainless steels, it is immediate to note that these materials are perfectly suitable for the construction of extendable water hoses. Once again, however, it is important to underline that a high-performance material is no guarantee of success in the application field: it is always necessary to accompany the choice of material with an optimized design, a production cycle that enhances its characteristics and implementation operations and maintenance carried out carefully.
