As already said other times, applying water pressure reducers upstream of a system above all helps reduce the dangerous effects that pressure peaks can cause to user devices, or on shut off valves with their resulting breakage and the consequential loss of fluid.
Applying
water pressure reducers, however, can also bring another series of advantages. Among these are a safe reduction in the noise coming from the system, which is regulated by specific standards; this noise is generated by cavitation, especially in the points where the section varies or where sudden changes in direction occur.
Another advantage of water pressure reducers is maybe less imaginable, but specific studies have evidenced that by reducing the pressure, water consumption reduces drastically. Considering an average daily consumption of around 140 litres of water at a pressure of 6 bar, halving the pressure lowers consumption to a daily average of around 99 litres.
